My bosses have been away for the last week, playing with building blocks and Lego's making igloos in Alaska, or something to that effect. I thought I would enjoy them not being in the office. I considered napping on one of their couches, pressing my face with nostrils upturned and mouth wide open on one of their numerous windows (I don't have a window, let alone windows), or spending hour upon hour spinning in their fancy office chairs.
It didn't exactly happen like that. I didn't get to make faces on the glass even once. I actually was so busy I couldn't leave my desk to pee. So, yeah, there is a nice sized puddle under my desk.
It's my own fault. I auditioned for an office movie and was cast in one of the lead roles. It required me to shoot almost all day every day the week before my bosses left for Alaska. I got so far behind on my work load that I considered jumping out of one of those nice office windows.
Now they will be back next week and will have to review all the work I have done and give me direction for the work I know needs doing. I am really not looking forward to it. Maybe I will take the advice of my friend Vicki, who is always telling me to wear something tight. According to her that makes EVERYTHING better.
